A color sketch…I may or may not polish this.  Maybe one day @_@
I know I haven’t posted in a while but I do have some things I’ve been doing and I will eventually post.  This is a figure study I did last night. I clocked it at about 3 hours.  Things I’d like to improve on in my next study will be color choices, juxtaposing looser brush strokes with sharp edges, and loosening the pose (this particular one feels a little stiff…)  Overall though I’m happy that I got it done in the amount of time.
Here’s a commission I did.  It took a while because of my available time but its finally done. The characters are based off of the clients book he’s creating. The character descriptions he provided were really fun to work from.
Painting sketch from a photo.  I need to paint more from life, haha. This one took me about 5 hours to do.  I’d like to paint some more portraits for practice.  I’m wondering if I go for a little while if it would change my style significantly…Well, expect some more digital paintings through out the month  (I hope ^_^ )

Last Friday I put together an group art show in Manhattan.  The art show is called DNYC Art Pop.  Art Pop is an art gallery show with work that encompasses an overarching theme from varying artists. The location for each show will pop up in different spaces every 3 to 4 months all over New York City so keep an eye out for us!  The goal of the show is to get artists and art lovers together, network, and get an eye full of visual candy.  …as well as enjoying the music and drinking the free wine!
You can find the facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/DnycArtPop   (If you like the page you’ll get more updates on future events, artist information, and more!)
It turned out to be a huge success! Lots of people, awesome art, great music and free wine.  Who wouldn’t want to come?

Ps. Here is a link to Shiho’s post about the event! She also submitted work.

Don’t worry guys, I’m not dead.  To prove it I wanted to post some wip stuff that I’ve been doing.  Theres waaay more than this but these are the only two that I’m doing on my comp.
Also just so you know I don’t actually HAVE INTERNET. I’m kind of an internet addict so the best thing for me to do is not have it at home and go to a cafe with wireless if I really need it. Another reason for not being able to update frequently. :P
Anyway I’ll try to be good and continue posting on a regular basis.  Hopefully I’ll be able to get photos of my recent OIL PAINTINGS (yes, thats right! Real world medium omg!), sketches for a few projects I’ve been working on, and commission illustrations I’ve been doing for some clients I met at Comic Con.
I work at such an awesome company.  I’m a lead artist at Large Animal Games, a small social game design company. On Thursday we started a company wide project where everyone was allowed to work on ANYTHING we wanted as long as it didn’t involve something we were currently working on there.  So I chose working on a new art piece and using google sketch up to help me out with the perspective of the environment.  We had 24 hours to work on our project. This is what I came up with. …Although I have to admit putting about 3 or so hours more on it after work just because I wasn’t completely satisfied haha.
